Through my eyes: London : )

I visited London as part of my whirlwind trip around Europe after visiting Egypt last year, and, to be honest, I wasn’t expecting to really like it all that much. It was the only English-as-a-first-language country we visited, which in my mind made it seem that it might not be quite as “exotic” or “adventurous.” I also thought the inordinate amounts of Aussie expats there meant it’d be too similar to home. If Paris was (in parts) unpleasantly disappointing, London was very surprisingly pleasant!

Parts of it did feel familiar, but in a good way. Places like Camden Market felt familiar in the way that I’m a big market person, so being in any markets, regardless of how foreign they are, always feel kind of like home to me. It also felt nothing like home in other parts, which was really amazing. I felt like I could have explored the city for weeks without having seen it all, which is kinda like Melbourne too. The city has a really cool, laid back, effortlessly hip feeling, and we at no point did I ever feel unsafe, not even on the tube at night… I already can’t wait to go back again, hopefully within the next 3 years if all goes to plan!

Enough talking, here are some of the sights captured over my time in London…
